Rules & Fair Play
These rules exist to keep Deathloop competitive, respectful, and playable. They describe expectations and examples, not loopholes.
Rules are interpreted by their intent. “It is not explicitly listed” is not a defense for obviously abusive behavior.
Rule intent: Players must compete using normal game inputs and intended server features.
- No aimbots, ESP, recoil scripts, automation, memory tools, packet manipulation, or similar assistance.
- Do not knowingly benefit from another player cheating on your behalf.
- Do not use external tools to create an advantage the server does not intentionally provide.
Rule intent: Finding a bug does not grant permission to profit from it.
- Report serious exploits privately.
- Do not duplicate items, bypass limits, escape protected areas, or exploit plugin states.
- If something clearly behaves incorrectly, stop using it for advantage.
Rule intent: Competition can be heated without making the community unsafe or unusable.
- No real-world threats or sharing private information.
- No targeted harassment campaigns or slurs intended to attack protected traits.
- Keep spam, voice abuse, and disruptive behavior within moderation limits.
Rule intent: PvP and raiding are part of Rust; deliberate system abuse or non-gameplay disruption is not.
- Normal raiding and PvP are allowed unless a server/event rule says otherwise.
- Do not block events, abuse spawn protection, or sabotage teammates through exploits.
- Repeated conduct designed only to make server systems unusable may be moderated.
Rule intent: Restrictions apply to the person/account relationship, not just one visible profile.
- Do not reconnect on alts to bypass a restriction.
- Do not lend accounts to evade enforcement.
- Linked accounts may be reviewed when enforcement is being bypassed.
Rule intent: Reports and appeals work best when players give clear, honest details.
- Provide truthful context, screenshots, clips, or other useful details.
- Do not coordinate false reports.
- One appeal per enforcement action unless staff asks for more information.
Rule intent: Protected systems exist for a specific gameplay purpose.
- Do not attack through protection bugs.
- Do not intentionally trap event participants using unintended mechanics.
- Follow event-specific instructions shown in-game or on Discord.
Rule intent: Server team limits apply to cooperation, not just official UI team membership.
- No teaming, shared raiding, shared bases, shared loot networks, coordinated defense, or rotating members to bypass a server limit.
- Attempting, knowingly assisting, or benefiting from team-limit evasion may be treated as the same violation.
- Clan, table, Discord, and Rust team systems must match the server limit and staff instructions.
Rule intent: A rulebook cannot enumerate every possible exploit or bad-faith tactic.
- Staff should document decisions and apply rules consistently.
- Players may appeal decisions through the proper channel.
- Bad-faith loophole arguments do not make abusive behavior acceptable.
Rule intent: Enforcement should be proportionate while protecting the server.
- Warnings are not guaranteed before severe enforcement.
- Repeat or coordinated offenses may receive escalated penalties.
- Store purchases do not exempt anyone from rules or guarantee reversal of enforcement.
Rules may change as the servers change. Major updates are announced through official Deathloop channels.
